Egg pictures

Here are pictures of eggs standing on their ends (for more info on this legend, see here). The pictures were all taken in Dr. Plait's kitchen in Northern California on an evening in March a week after the vernal equinox. Note that the egg on the left in these images is standing its narrow end. There were no tricks involved at all – just patience and care. The eggs were raw and fresh from the refrigerator; you can even see some condensation on them.
