Movies in five seconds

I actually don’t think this needs much intro. But I looked at a few of these (not like it takes long) and I can’t decide. Which one is better:

Star Trek II in Five Seconds:

or

2001: A Space Odyssey in Five Seconds?

Silence of the Lambs is funny, too.

Tip o’ the popcorn box to an unnamed mole at NASA. Why is it important the (s)he’s from NASA? It isn’t. I just think that’s funny, too.

Wrath of Khan…one of the greatest sci-fi films ever and it’s all a play on Moby Dick and A Tale of Two Cities ;)

  2. Neil Says:

5 Second Movies are great! The Silence of the Lambs is awesome, but the one for Amadeus had me rolling for half an hour. Titanic, The Exorcist, and The Passion of the Christ were hilarioustoo, particularly The Exorcist.

I always did like ST:II better. You might want to check out Movies by Bunnies in 30 seconds: http://www.angryalien.com/

Well, there goes my Sunday afternoon!

  5. Kevin L. Says:

The Star Trek one was better (It’s Star Trek - it’s ALWAYS better :-D), but my favorites were the ones for The Princess Bride and American Beauty.

Those are high-larious! Not to be watched while drinking - just sprayed my keyboard…….

Star Trek. Most of the (fantastic!) movie is Kirk cursing Khan’s name and Khan cursing Kirk’s. But I do like the last bit of “2001.” “Woah…”

I did 300 in five seconds a while back, though only in text, not in a video: http://lafinjack.livejournal.com/207725.html

  9. Blake Stacey Says:

Both were amusing, but the “whoa” at the end of the 2001 clip was what sent spittle across my monitor.

  10. Lugosi Says:

    Curious definition of five seconds.

  11. RayCeeYa Says:

    Oh god,

Titanic has to be the best one of the bunch!!

[…] Ann Treacy wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerptI actually don’t think this needs much intro. But I looked at a few of these (not like it takes long) and I can’t decide. Which one is better:. Star Trek II in Five Seconds:. or. 2001: A Space Odyssey in Five Seconds? … […]

The 2001 clip was deficient. It needed an exterior space shot showing the ship preferably along with a single deep breath by a space-suited Dave. Therefore the Star Trek clip wins by default. (By the way, the original Star Trek movie could be successfully compressed into 2 seconds and would likely be better than the full length version.)

  14. Matt Says:

Both good, but the 2001 clip was definitely better.
Looks like I’m on my own with that opinion, though.

I prefer the short version of “The Passion of the Christ”:

Nothing beats Prisoner of Azkaban in 15 minutes, though…

Why did you do this? Now I’m stuck watching these movies and emailing them to friends all night! ;-)

  18. Shoeshine Boy Says:

I finally got around to watching “Troy” this weekend. It needs a 5 second version…or at least a two hour one.

  19. Jeff Says:

The “All the Batman Movies in 5 seconds” was my favorite. Stick around for the final sound bite.

*SNERK* Darn, it really doesn’t take us much to laugh to tears, uh? :)

  21. Lars Bruchmann Says:

    Oh god,

Titanic has to be the best one of the bunch!!

“this ship can’t sink!” next scene is the stern going under with a “bloop-bloop” sound. Histerical!!!

STII:TWOK was great too!! Thanks for showing those, now I have like 20 saved on my youtube profile!

  22. Jack Hagerty Says:

You’re all wrong. “Beetlejuice” gets the top prize in my book. I was right on the edge of passing out from not breathing!

    “Titanic” was a close second.
