Oh noes! Another blog contest!

A trackback from another blog led me to the somewhat lamentable discovery that Performancing is holding another best blog contest… and both PZ and I are on their list.

However, I think I’ll be spared any nail-biting last-minute tie-breaking deals: the category is for Science and Technology, which means we’re up against monster sites Engadget, Ars Technica, and Gizmodo.

I think I won’t worry too much about this one. :-)

Saturn’s rings occulted Antares

… but like the phrase goes, you really had to have been there. Literally.

The Cassini Saturn orbiter took some amazing shots of the bright star Antares passing behind Saturn’s myriad rings. I’d talk all about it, but Emily’s got the poop.
